Hit It Up

Support friends & family on Saturday.
I have devoted my WHOLE day to coaching...
but if I get a few seconds, I'll be there!

(NO- She's Got It All will not be selling there, due to us being too busy-
BUT YES- we are still in business...
ONLINE & we have STOCK!)

28 Candles

Yes- it is sad but true! I am gettin' OLD!

It took a WEEK to celebrate my 28th b-day! (once again)
During the day, Shalae took me to one of my favorites: COSTA VIDA!
I LOVE their SWEET PORK! Salad or cheese crisp- don't care! I LOVE IT!

That afternoon, I thought Lance was bringing me flowers........
(Lance knows I don't love flowers for myself. Flowers are expensive & they don't last. I'd rather save the money or buy something that will last.)
Lance kept telling me that the flowers were not for me-
TURNS OUT they really were NOT for me... they were "FOR MY MOM for having me".
We kept eating out....
JOES FARM HOUSE is FREE on your b-day - & I love their food, too! The sweet potato fries are my fave!
{Shae & the whole sha-bang}
Joe's & YOGURTLAND!!!
Don't worry, the next day.... still eating to celebrate!
We went to another fave spot...
JERSEY MIKE'S & YOGURTLAND!
Sunday - still going....
my parents were back in town & ready to celebrate their fave daughter!
Sunday dinner- we made The Olive Garden's CHICKEN MARSALA.. delish!
The girls were in their best attire....
and of course the missionaries were in on the fun! They take Brad's spot - FOR NOW.
{Elder Wilder & Elder Porter}
(Elle & I take a pic together each year to see how much she or I change.)
We weren't done YET!
We took this handsome stud
& headed to Jersey Mike's & Yogurtland AGAIN!!!!!
ONE MORE TRIP-
... I won't even say where!
I really hate getting older, but I was once again overwhelmed with all the love from family & friends!
Thanks everyone..... I really don't need a BirthWEEK every year, though!

Our feud to FAMILY FEUD

..Let me give you my take

{aka: my play by play}

on the whole FEUD thing!..

Back in August my youngest sister {Alisse} heard there were auditions for Family Feud in Phoenix, so she signed us up. ..Girls Night Out-SURE! So we all said we'd go.

There were auditions all through out the day & they were held in 2 - 3 ball rooms.

We went to the last try outs of the day & we were the last ones to go from in our ball room. Actually we were the only family in the room to play twice, because of the odd # of families.

(that might of helped us be fresh on their minds)

We were pretty much sure that we would not get called back.

BUT it was a good excuse for all of us to get out of our houses for a night- PLUS we had a reason to get a new shirt. ha ha

AND we got this awesome bobble head...

Within a week, we got a call that said we were going to be flown to California to have a chance at getting on the show. They let us know that each day they send 1 -3 families home with out taping.

WE ALL HAD SUCH STOMACH ACHES! {nervous way more than excited}

There were so many rules & dress codes that we had to obey!

(Such as: The tops could not be any of the following: black, white, printed, labeled, too bright, pastel, NO CLEAVAGE etc. No denim, no shorts, no capris.... AND it said over & over: NO HIGH HEALS! {AKA NO STILETTOS}

It took a couple trips of shopping together which seemed fun at first.... but I am not a shopper! Trying to find 3 coordinating outfits that followed all of the rules FOR 5 girls- AHHHH!! (and we all had to like them..) It stressed me out to tell you the truth.
Our favorite outfit that we all agreed to be our #1 outfit were these cute ruffle tanks w/ different colored CARDIGANS!

We all met up one night to make sure all of our outfits were o.k. together. {check}

One of our last things we could prepare was OUR SKIT! We knew we could count on our oldest sister {Auburn} to help out in that area.

(Family Feud now has each family prepare a short skit to introduce each family.)

My grandma had ALSO been trying to help us think up a QUICK skit.... before she told us- I made sure to video tape it. We about died laughing!!!!!!

It took so long to try to post the video...

basicly- HER idea was to have me do a "FLIP" on camera!

Good one Grandma! {gotta love her}

..... FINALLY the weekend came to head out....

The pic below is on the way to the airport - Shalae & I were cracking up, because we couldn't hear or see anything that was going on in the car because it was so packed that we had to hold our luggage & our legs were going numb. But of course Shalae still found a way to talk to her BF anyway.

Family Feud paid for our flights, shuttle, and breakfast & lunch the day of filming.
(WE LOVE FREE)

...I want to thank MYLIE CYRUS for just a second for writing a song for our trip.... we did have to change a few words... {red writing }

We hopped of the plane at LAX with our dreams & our cardigans- Welcome to the land of FAMILY FEUD- Are we gonna get in?

Jumped in our shuttle - here we are for the first time.

(together anyway)

Looked to the right & we saw the HOLLYWOOD sign:

This is all so crazy- everybody seems so famous!

(just like our chauffer- SCOTTY..ha ha)

We cruised L.A. the first day.

Below is a pic of the "Scientology Church":

We headed to "the alleys" in the Garment District.. We had a great time.

But the HIGHLIGHT of the Alleys- was our first & last stop with this amazing lady selling these cute babies for $10! We were going to buy a few, so we thought we'd try to get a deal... HA HA- She was NOT having it.

She could not talk, we didn't think she could hear, & we weren't sure she even understood math. It was sad.

She kept trying to explain that the dolls faces wouldn't break because they were plastic, so she'd squeeze their cheeks or knock on them to tell us!

THEN she'd count our babies that we were holding 1,2,3,4,5.... & she'd tell us that we owed $60 on her calculator. Even though it was so sad, she was so funny!

(You know we gave in!!)

That night we took time to make sure our skit was ready to go, our clothes were not wrinkled, & etc.!

FRIDAY was the day to go have a blast.

We met 2 other fun families that were staying at the hotel with us that we were going to be with ALL day...

(We might have played "I Gotta Feeling" from my sisters phone as we all arrived!! ha ha- NERDS! This was our GOOD LUCK song since our auditions.)

It was so fun to see all of the families & meet all of the Family Feud workers... and of course get 2 free meals!

video

{it might have included donuts & Dr. Pepper for breakfast..ha ha}

After going over more rules & tips from the staff, each family had a practice round.

Next, we joined the FANS in the audiance & had a 30 minute lesson/lecture on how to:
clap our hands; say "ahh" or "good answer"; nod your head; saying the answers together; clapping to the beat of The Feud song & ETC!!!

(we had to do this after breakfast & lunch)
EVEN being in the audiance wore us out! We had to be SO CHEESY while sitting & watching other games.

We filmed our skit & kept sitting.....

waiting & waiting...

WONDERING if we were going to get a chance to film or not.

It was an emotional roller coaster all day... as cheesy as it sounds!

There were so many times that I was sure we were not going to get even get a turn.

(I was kind of being the pestimest)

.... {catch up on our song}
Stomaches were turning.. not that we were home sick.
So much pressure it made us nervous.

After several hours of sitting in the audiance, Bryce (our favorite worker) pulled us aside & told us we were FINALLY next.

THEN- we were really nervous!!!

We were super excited, though. So excited- that Alisse might have hugged Bryce! ha ha

The staff was so nice & sweet. They were all pulling for us & giving us tips... like: TAKE A BREATH, just think clearly & make it personal..

(easy -right?!...... TRY AGAIN! I can't think fast as it is.. let that be my warning)

SO, next thing we knew we were posing & taping the show!!!!!

IT WAS A RUSH of excitement & nervousness all in one!

It went by so fast!

We had to be SUPER CHEESY..... more than ever before!

Clapping, dancing, hip bumping, high-fiving, shouting "good answer" ha ha ha

WOW, it was CHEESY!

BUT it was so much fun! Something we will never forget.

Next thing we knew:

{song}

That's when Bryce got our attention ....

to come on down ...(from our seats in the audiance)

AND WE WERE GOING ON!!!!!!!!

FINALLY GOING ON!!!

Then "the FEUD song" came on!!!!

So we put our HANDS UP,

they were playing "that" song,

and {my} brain flew away..

nodding our heads like 'ahh' (if we didn't get the answer),

clapping our hands like "YEAH!!!!"

We got our HANDS UP,
they were playing "that" song,

It didn't matter anyway...

YEAH- ah- ah-ah...

It's a PARTY on the FAMILY FEUD

YEAH- ah- ah-ah...

It's a PARTY with the Sherwood girls!

That night we were worn out & spent it walking the streets of L.A.- here are a few people we saw:

(P.S.- Michael Jackson is still alive- but he is black again so nobody realized it was him.)

We sat & laughed {hard} as we ate at CPK.
("Cinders Ella": Shalae is trying to sell us her doll)

Saturday- we went to the OC SWAP MEET... duh!

Please notice the hottie that walked around posing & sat RIGHT BEHIND us as we tried to eat!

No- FOR REALS!!!!!

Auburn said he was "trying to get noticed for a Stetson (sp?) commercial".

A booth we might have wasted some money at!:

(Notice Auburn pointing in the back ground.)

Shalae felt like a very feminine woman.....

Before leaving we enjoyed a lil' somethin'.... {as usual}

(Auburn, Alisse, Scott, my mom, Tera- Auburns friend from college- & her son.. & our other sister/Auburns friend- Cassidy!)

(Shae & I can not ever be normal in a picture.)

ha ha.... Scott had to go help Tera after she ran over a couple cones!

GOOD THING WE HAD OUR SCOTTY!!!

Outside our hotel:

Before catching our flights we went & hung out at "THE GROVE".

This is inside the American Doll store.. any girls DREAM!!

Auburn was too busy shopping.

That girl can shop till she drops- even w/ out buying a thing!!

AND we might have been guilty of eating a box of SPRINKLES CUPCAKES for lunch at the airport!

{FATTY TOWN}

So, that was my play by play of all of the things I want to remember about our amazing trip to CALIFORNIA.... one we will never forget.

You can watch us in MAY on Ch. 3!!!!

Remember that I warned everyone that I am an airhead. ha ha

Got to to the show in our shuttle van

Everybody's lookin' at us now..

Like "Who's the girls that are rockin' hits-

They MUST be from outta town"!

So I holla'd to my girls all around me..

"This definately aint a Mormon party"!

"Dolly's" wearin' stilettos.

Guess she ignored the memo.
